The takeaway

Agent access and model-training rights are different commercial products. Prepare your data so buyers can understand both its relationships and its permitted uses.

What changed on October 8

Confirmed: Google introduced the Gemini agent at Gemini at Work 2026, describing a universal agent for knowledge work, media creation and coding. Its enterprise approach includes business-system connections, agent identities, permission controls, auditability and isolated execution.

This is a platform announcement. It does not disclose a budget for buying third-party operational datasets. It also does not establish that customers’ connected records are licensed for training.

Our analysis: relationships make context usable

A support ticket has more explanatory value when it links to the customer’s product configuration, earlier incidents, the relevant knowledge article and the eventual resolution. An agent needs to know which records refer to the same thing and which actions are allowed.

For an Ohio distributor, an order exception might connect a warehouse event, a customer message, a pricing approval and a shipment update. Preserving those relationships can make a proposed dataset easier to evaluate. The announcement supports that product direction; it does not prove a specific price premium.

Package two distinct offers

A training or evaluation snapshot is a fixed set of approved examples, prepared for a stated use. Private operational access connects an agent to current information under the company’s permissions. Refresh frequency, service obligations and risk differ.

Make those distinctions visible in your inventory. Include source systems, record identifiers, timestamps, permission assumptions and linked outcomes. Our connection manifest guide explains how to organize that evidence.

A practical next step

Choose one workflow and map its records before considering a broad export. Note where a person approves an action or corrects the system. Those boundaries are useful both to a data reviewer and to an internal automation team.

Use the Ohio Training Data assessment to describe what you have. If linkage or de-identification is uncertain, the next step is a sample quality review, rather than assigning a confident valuation.
